本研究では, トマト青枯病に対する太陽熱土壌消毒に必要な栽培管理用水量の基礎的な知見を得ることを目的とし, 岐阜県海津市内の6ハウスを対象にして灌水量や土壌温度, 土壌消毒前後の青枯病菌数等を調査した．その結果, ハウスの密閉状態, ハウス内外の気温差, 消毒期間の長さ, 期間中の気象条件が地温の上昇に影響することを明らかにした．一般に, 青枯病菌を死滅させるためには, 日平均地温が40℃以上で連続して10日間, あるいは還元処理を併用して3日以上維持することが必要とされている．調査の結果, この条件を満たしたときに消毒後の菌数は著しく減少し, 十分な消毒効果を確認した．また, 消毒効果が確認された2ハウスの調査結果から, 太陽熱土壌消毒に使用された栽培管理用水量は155.6～495.2mm（平均：291.3mm）であり, それは間隙飽和に必要な水量の104～346%（平均：218%）に相当することが明らかになった．

平板状供試体による粘性土の伸びひずみの測定査読

水圧破砕の原因となる亀裂の発生条件を検討するうえで，築堤材や基礎部分の引張側の強度特性を知ることは重要である．硬い岩などでは円柱供試体の両端をチャックで固定し引張力を直接作用させることができるが，岩に比べ強度が小さい粘性土においては同様の方法を用いることはできない．そこで，I字形に成形した平板状供試体の中央の一部を矩形にくり抜くことにより，応力がほぼ均等に作用する部分を持つ供試体形状を有限要素法により検討した．さらに火山灰質粘性土でその供試体を作成し，ひずみの測定にデジタルカメラによる画像計測を用いた直接引張試験により伸びひずみを測定した．その結果，強度の弱い土においても直接引張試験による連続的な応力とひずみの測定を可能とした．
