本研究は、終戦時に日本、中国、アメリカ、韓国など関係各国に分散した旧「満洲」、モンゴル、朝鮮に関する社会実態調査資料を収集分析することによって関連地域における戦前と戦後社会の変容や連続性について考察するものである。2021年度は、日本国内や中国など海外の研究者とのオンラインによる情報交換や学術交流を行った。2021年度の研究成果の総括として「満鉄と内モンゴル」と題するシンポジウム（2022.3.26、オンライン）を開催し、8名が研究発表を行った。研究代表者は「満鉄産業部による内モンゴル調査」（『人間文化』No52,滋賀県立大学人間文化学部、2022年3月30日）、「ビチエーチーナワンナムジルとその遺稿について」（『「帝国」の秩序と再編－モンゴルの文書と史跡の探求）加藤直人、中見立夫、広川佐保編、2022年2月28日）と題する論文を執筆した。
研究分担者の広川佐保は「満洲国喇嘛教宗団とチベット仏教―内モンゴル東部を中心に」(『近代東アジアと日本文化』銀河書籍、2021）、「書評と紹介：小都晶子『「満洲国」の日本人移民政策』（汲古書院、2019）『日本歴史』2021年9月号）、中見立夫、加藤直人、広川佐保編 『「帝国」の秩序と再編：モンゴルの文書と史跡の探求』、2022）などの研究業績をだされた。
研究分担者の辻大和は、植民地朝鮮から京城帝国大学蒙疆学術探検隊に参加した経済学者鈴木武雄関係の研究を進め、「京城帝国大学蒙疆学術探検隊のみた1930年代後半内モンゴル経済」とする口頭発表を行った（「内陸アジア史学会大会」2021年12月）。また朝鮮総督府殖産局を中心に植民地朝鮮の産業、貿易振興にかかわった官僚の穂積真六郎関係資料の整理に携わり、「穂積真六郎関係資料」『東洋文化研究』24（2022年3月）として発表することができた。 -

Modern history consists in the transformation of the center of civilization form Afro Eurasian inner dryland to European dominating ocean world, formation of Modern World System. The conquest was not completed: 90% in Africa, 50% in Middle East, 20% in China.
Now, Africa Union with the aim of the United States of Africa wants to reset its nation state system established on European colonialism; growing Islamist conflict challenges it also. In Middle East, Turkish power as mediator of the Ukrainian war and Iran, reconciliated with Saudi, became important.IS revolt distributed new message for Islamism. Gulf countries became strong in modern economic power. Socialist China builds a new global system with 'One Belt, One Road Initiative', construction of old Silk Road Belt and new Maritime Silk Road. China suffers of inner ethnic conflicts because of political system too centralist to accept regional diversity. Afro-Eurasia world is now on the 3rd global civilization formation process. -

For rethinking the human civilization history, we have evaluated the Afro-Eurasian Inner dry land Civilization as its basic and main stream before the modern time from a pastoralist point of view. The animal was the pre modern most important power for men to exploit. The value of domesticated animals was not limited to the production of protein resources. As an excellent way of transport, it has contributed to the formation of long distant trade making its network and city civilization; as that of war and political domination, it supported the formation of Great Empires. Thus a global civilization was established in the inner dry land where distant regions and peoples communicate and exchange together, while 4 kinds of typology can be classified: 1. Northern prairie, 2. Tropical desert, 3. Oasis, 4. Tropical savanna. The destruction was however its modern history because Western modern history was that of ocean centered civilization and fossil energy.
