本研究では、日本中世・近世において複合的な生業を有する海村の特質と、それに伴う近隣村や都市との交易・交流・負担の実像を若狭湾沿岸海村を素材に解明することを目的とし、①若狭湾沿岸の諸海村における生業および村内秩序の特質、②近隣村との生業をめぐる交流と軋轢、およびその要因の一つとなる海村の負担の実像、③各海村と他地域、および都市との交易・交通の様相について、現地における調査・研究を実施している。具体的な作業としては、若狭湾沿岸海村に現存する中世から近世前期の古文書の悉皆調査と、古文書の情報をもとに現地における地理学的・民俗学的な聞き取り調査を実施することにあるが、コロナ禍の影響により後者については実施が困難であったため、本年度は前者の古文書調査と撮影古文書の目録作成の実施に注力した。
本年度に実施した研究は、①若狭・越前地域に現存する古文書の調査・撮影、②撮影した古文書の目録および絵図のトレース図の作成である。①については、2020年9月に「金瘡書」（越前市中央図書館所蔵）・「大音家文書」（若狭歴史博物館寄託）・「大聖寺文書」（高浜町）、2021年3月に「発心寺文書」・「龍泉寺文書」・「河野文書」・「安倍文書」・「明通寺文書」（以上、若狭歴史博物館寄託）・「若狭歴史博物館所蔵文書」・大橋文書（小浜市）・「劔神社文書」・「桃井文書」（以上、織田歴史館寄託）、2022年3月に「萬徳寺文書」（小浜市）・「渡辺文書」（若狭歴史博物館寄託）・「西福寺文書」（小浜市立図書館寄託）・「組屋文書」・「桑村文書」（以上、若狭歴史博物館所蔵）・「松平文庫（寄合物）」（福井県文書館所蔵）・「福井県立歴史博物館所蔵文書」・「西野文書」（福井県立歴史博物館所蔵）の調査・撮影を実施した。②については、南越前町・小浜市・若狭町において撮影した古文書の目録と、美浜町・小浜市の絵図のトレース図の作成を実施した。 -

In this study, we took the pioneering step of introducing the research approach known as “public history,” whose presence in the study of history overseas has grown substantially in recent years, into Japan and explored the possibility of developing research methods and practices associated with this approach in Japan. The conclusion reached is that public history, which encompasses a wide range of practices related to historical research wherein academic historians consciously and actively collaborate with individuals who are not academic historians (i.e., the general public), has the potential to become a powerful driving force in changing how history is studied in Japan.

The purpose of this research is an impection of relation between widely believed shrine and co-ounership of natural resources in Shiga prefecture and Osaka,Nara and so.After making a list of village relations, I made a report "Shrine belief by plural villages in east Shiga". And researching the festival of Namura Shrine in Ryuou town that was held after an interval of 32years, I have clarfied relations of water and wood use by central nine villages by using old documents. And l clarfied that water and wood use,religious styles of Unebiyamaguchi Shrine have changed on a large scale after Mt.Unebi was converted into state-owner land and Kashihara Shrine was built.

Comprehensive data was assembled from excavation reports to determine patterns of establishment, transition, and disappearance of archaeological sites during the ancient to medieval periods around Lake Biwa, with special attention on the relationship between rivers and the lake and agricultural development. Included in the data were historical documents such as the "AWAJIKUYUU-MONJYO" and the Meiji Era "Chiseki Zu" which were examined and photographed.
